"I'm Not Asking You" is a song about resilience and perseverance. Like "Anchors Aweigh" it is meant to mythologize figures who have impacted Westerman's life, including trumpeter "Buddy" Bolden. Horns and tambourine give the bright, upbeat track a touch of soul. The chorus simply declares, "I'm not asking you to believe in me." Read all the lyrics here.

"Anchors Aweigh" is meant to mythologize Westerman’s loved ones, culminating in a verse about her father suffering a heart attack while sailing. Its nautical themes are echoed by the percussive blasts of Danny Frankel (Lou Reed, Fiona Apple) and drummer Tabor Allen (Cherry Glazerr). Producer Chris Schlarb describes the track as ”liquid minimalist no wave pop.”
